Gardeners often encounter problems when growing cucumbers.
A widespread and rather offensive phenomenon is the mass formation of barren flowers.
There are several reasons why summer residents face this problem.
Barren flowers on cucumbers: reasons
Cucumbers need not only abundant watering, but also more light. They should not be sown in a shaded area. It is better to have more sun than to have plants in the shade or partial shade for half of the day.
It is also not recommended to overdo it with watering. Of course, cucumbers love moisture and are considered to be almost the main "water drinkers". But there should be a measure in everything.
Therefore, when watering before flowering, you need to focus on 4-5 liters per "square" of the bed. But you should take into account the rain. If the precipitation was not heavy, then you need to water the cucumbers.
If there is no rain, then watering should be done 2-3 times a week.
Also no cold water. Warm water (25-28°C) should be used.
Many empty flowers are formed if it is too hot (from +35°C) or cold (below +12°C). In this case, it is necessary to cover or shade.
And it is not recommended to get too carried away with nitrogen fertilizers. Imbalance also leads to barren flowers.
Earlier we talked about fertilizers that are quick to prepare and act instantly.
