When planting tomato seedlings in the ground, it is important that they take root.
To do this, it is necessary to properly prepare the soil in advance.
Agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told what to put in a hole for tomatoes to get a good harvest.
How to prepare beds
It is advisable to prepare beds for planting tomatoes in the fall.
For example, you can dig with compost or humus. Three kilograms of this product will be required per square meter.
You can also fertilize the soil in the spring. Three weeks before planting, you can add bone meal to the bed at a rate of 300 grams per square meter.
The soil can be disinfected a day before planting the seedlings.
To do this, you need to prepare an infusion of onion peel. Pour boiling water over half a bucket of peel and let it brew for about 48 hours.
What to add to the hole
To ensure that the seedlings take root well, you can put a simple remedy in the hole. It requires only three ingredients.
Mix one handful each of crushed eggshells, ash and onion peel.
