What to plant in May
Many heat-loving agricultural crops can be planted in open ground until the end of the last month of spring. These include some types of vegetables, melons and greens.
For example, May is a great time to plant cucumbers in the ground. If you plant them while the soil is not warm enough, there is a risk of ruining the seeds.
It's high time to plant melons and watermelons in May, which will have time to ripen and will definitely sprout in warm soil.
You can also plant pumpkins and squash. However, in this case, it is best to sow early-ripening varieties to ensure that you have time to harvest before the cold weather sets in.
Basil is the most heat-loving type of greenery, so it can be safely planted in May.
