Correct design of the tree trunk circle improves the health of the tree's root system and, in addition, makes the area even more beautiful.
But not all flowers can be planted near a tree. There are a number of characteristics that ornamental plants should have.
An expert of the online publication TUT NOVOSTI, agronomist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, spoke about them in more detail.
Flowers that can withstand proximity to trees are those that:
- resistant to lack of light and moisture;
- frost-resistant;
- undemanding to soil composition.
Crocuses, bluebells, lilies of the valley, hellebores, tulips, fritillaries, muscari, and daffodils have such characteristics.
If the tree has a spreading and dense crown, it is better to plant hosta, fern, bergenia, loosestrife, periwinkle.
Sometimes a delicate penumbra is formed under the trees. In this case, you can plant petunias, violas, marigolds, and nasturtiums.
Previously, we talked in more detail about plants that are not afraid of the dark.
