Begonia needs to be properly prepared for winter.
If you don’t do one thing, the plant will not survive the cold season and will not delight you with flowering next season.
The only true and reliable way to protect the plant is to preserve the tubers.
To do this, dig a hole 8 cm from the cut bush, and then remove the root along with the lump of earth.
In this form, the begonia should be left to dry for two weeks. For this, a separate box is used, which is placed in a cool room.
After 14 days, the planting material is sprinkled with sand. It is stored in this form until spring.
But before planting, the tubers should be treated in a weak solution of potassium permanganate.
For reference
