Even the most attentive and experienced gardeners are not immune to crop loss.
This is especially true in situations where agricultural crops are attacked by various pests.
We figure out why holes can appear on cabbage and its leaves and how to deal with this scourge.
Cabbage with holes: what to do
Holes in the leaves and the vegetable itself indicate that your garden has been attacked by pests. The most frequent guests in Russian gardens are:
- bedbugs;
- caterpillars of the cabbage white butterfly or cabbage moth;
- cruciferous flea beetle;
- snails or slugs;
- aphid.
It is not difficult to detect who exactly has occupied the cabbage. Most often, the pests hide under the leaves of the plants at the base.
If you have just noticed the holes, then a reliable folk remedy will come to the rescue. Mix tobacco dust and sifted ash in a 1:1 ratio and dust the plants affected by pests.
An infusion of 100 grams of tobacco dust and 1 liter of hot water will work against fleas and caterpillars. Let the solution sit for 3 days and then spray the cabbage.
