What we consider waste may actually still be useful.
This is especially true for various food waste, which can become real fertilizer for your flowers.
Let's figure out what kind of trash belongs in flower pots instead of in the trash.
What household waste can be used?
First, don't rush to get rid of the banana peel. Like the fruit itself, it is a source of potassium, magnesium, and phosphorus, which are essential for plants.
To ensure that the flowers receive nutrients, the skins are simply dug into the ground around the plantings.
Coffee grounds are also useful for plants, as they contain potassium, nitrogen and other essential elements. To deliver them to flowers, the grounds are scattered at the roots of flowers.
The same goes for green tea, which, thanks to tannins, can lower the pH level of the soil. You can brew a bag of the drink and feed the flowers this way once a week.
Eggshells contain calcium, which is also essential for plants. They are ground into small pieces and scattered on the soil surface.
Earlier we wrote about how to feed begonias for lush flowering.
