Not everyone can become a boss.
True, not everyone wants to admit this fact: for them it is tantamount to saying goodbye to their career.
Many have ambitions, but only a few are able to realize them. Some receive new titles and positions with salary increases, while others sit in their places and with the same salary. This, naturally, causes bewilderment and grumbling in the spirit of "why does Ivanov get everything, and I get nothing?"
By the way, this is a good question. Indeed, why do some become leaders and others do not?
The personal qualities of a potential boss are known to everyone: determination, ability to work in a team, correctly set priorities, ability to work in multitasking mode, communication skills, responsibility. After all, bosses do not just sit in their offices and drink coffee.
It is to them that problematic visitors (in other words, troublemakers) are sent, with whom they are obliged to come to a common denominator and reduce the intensity of passions.
Otherwise, the complainant will go further, and this is fraught with various troubles: calls from “above”, demands, conflicts.
What kind of person would never become a director?
Emotional and impressionable
As a quality of life, this is not bad, but when it clearly exceeds the average, such a boss will not do anything good.
He will swear, threaten, cry, and when it comes to a real showdown, he will not be able to resolve the issue.
As a rule, such a person asserts himself and is firmly convinced that the management is only obliged to control and report. However, the gray everyday life quickly brings the would-be dreamer back to earth.
He sometimes occupies a high position, for example, through connections, but not for long. Or in a small company where there are no serious problems.
To the indecisive and timid
This person is used to being afraid of everyone and is highly dependent on other people's opinions. It is extremely important to him "what people will say", so he lives with an eye on someone. Even if he is promoted, then it is maximum to the level of department head or department manager. No higher.
Subordinates usually do not take him into account, because they see very well how he grovels before the higher management. They may listen to him, but they do not respect him and despise him. But these are rare cases, because an intimidated person will never be offered a promotion.
To the rebel
A bright and strong personality is, as a rule, a freelancer or a businessman. He does not stay long at a regular job, because he does not work well with the team.
Not to mention commanding someone. Firstly, they won't appoint him because they're afraid of a rebellion, and secondly, he himself won't want to.
The thing is that he is well aware of all his responsibilities and does not live in the clouds. And he does not want to answer and blush for someone's mistakes, or explain himself to his subordinates.
He prefers emotional and financial stability, so he certainly doesn't aim for the top job. His own is quite suitable for him.
Of course, all of the above does not cancel out the so-called nepotism, when friends, relatives and other close associates are appointed to cushy positions.
There, it is not professional qualities that are taken into account, but connections. The production and the team suffer from such arbitrariness first of all.
People are used to working in a certain way, and now they have to change abruptly. Not everyone is ready to see in their bosses an illiterate and scandalous type who dreams of bossing everyone around, humiliating, being rude, insulting, and demanding.
Therefore, in such a situation, the hapless boss has a deputy who really understands the work and official duties of his subordinates. He is the true leader of the enterprise.
