The United States has increased purchases of one of the key Russian goods.
After three months of declining demand, Russian fertilizer exports grew by 16%.
This conclusion was made by RIA Novosti experts who studied statistical data on US exports.
Sales of nitrogen fertilizers showed a noticeable increase: the US purchased 1.7 times more of them in the second month of summer.
The total amount spent on fertilizers is estimated at $62.4 million. In June, the United States purchased fertilizers for $53.8 million.
In March, however, the total amount of exported products was significantly higher. The US spent $174.2 million that month.
Over the next three months, exports declined, but now they are growing again.
Thanks to this, Russia took second place among fertilizer suppliers to the United States: its share increased to 12%. The largest amount of fertilizer comes from Canada: in July alone, the United States spent $295.9 million on it.
It is noted that in addition to Russia and Canada, fertilizers are supplied to the United States by Israel, Jordan and Lebanon.
