Turkey commented on the introduction of sanctions against the Russian Federation.

Official Ankara does not support such steps by the West.

The speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş, made this statement during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, RIA Novosti reports.

A representative of the Turkish authorities emphasized that Ankara does not support Western sanctions, embargoes and other restrictions that are constantly imposed on Russia.

In Turkey, they believe that it is wrong to restrict and punish Moscow in this way.

Kurtulmuş noted that Türkiye and Russia have similar priorities, especially regarding the Middle East region.

In particular, both countries have a common view on the crisis that has erupted in the Middle East. The escalation of relations between Israel and Palestine inevitably affects the rest of the world, and is not exclusively a problem for one of the parties to the conflict.
