The State Duma is preparing a federal law on additional payments to Russians for their marital “length of service.”
The lower house of parliament noted that more than 20 regions have such regional additional payments, but it is time to grant this right to all Russians.
Deputy Yaroslav Nilov said that the State Duma will finalize this bill and present an updated version of the document by the autumn session, writes the Parliamentary Newspaper .
The previous version was not supported by the government. The Cabinet pointed out that the project was not well-developed. Now it has become known that the deputies have not abandoned this initiative.
The State Duma will work out the payment mechanism. Deputies have not yet decided whether this money will be divided in half and transferred to each of the spouses or whether the entire amount will go to the husband's or wife's account.
It is proposed to introduce an additional payment for an uninterrupted marriage for 20 years. For example, for this period the couple will receive 20 thousand rubles, for 25 years - 25 thousand rubles, and so on.
Indexation is envisaged, and for residents of the Far North a regional coefficient will be added.
The payment is retained by the widow or widower if the death of one of the spouses occurred in the year of the anniversary.
