Next year, old-age insurance pensions in Russia will be indexed twice.
State Duma deputy Svetlana Bessarab shared a comment on this matter.
The first indexation in 2025 will be carried out on February 1 by the percentage of inflation, RIA Novosti reports. The second - on April 1 by the growth of the investment portfolio.
Payments for pensioners who continue to work will be indexed according to the same rules as for those who have fully retired.
This is an innovation that was adopted recently and in a relatively short period of time. A month passed from Vladimir Putin's proposal to the approval of the law.
As for social pensions, they will be indexed only once – from April 1.
The deputy admitted that pensions for former military personnel will also increase in 2025, but for now they are expected to be indexed from October 1, 2024.
