Important changes in the procedure for registering vehicles are expected in the Russian Federation.
The new norm was developed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the press service of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate reported on Thursday, November 21.
The agency proposed to exclude from the regulations the requirement for mandatory provision of an MTPL insurance policy when conducting registration activities, the agency’s website says.
Also under consideration is the adjustment of procedures for the provision of state services for vehicle registration related to the termination and renewal of state registration, as well as deregistration.
The changes have not yet entered into force. The initiative is currently undergoing an anti-corruption review.
The new rule is expected to come into effect in March next year.
The decision has already been approved by the president. The Ministry of Internal Affairs only needs to bring its regulations into line with the law.
