The Cabinet of Ministers approved a decision to extend the preferential mortgage program for Russians working in the IT sector.

But the government has made a number of changes, according to the official Telegram channel of the Cabinet of Ministers.

The IT mortgage has been extended until 2030. In 2024, 39 billion rubles will be allocated for the program’s operation.

But from August this year, changes come into force. The program no longer applies to residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg.

The rate will increase from 5% to 6%. The maximum amount will be 9 million rubles.

To receive a preferential loan, a specialist must have a monthly salary of at least 150 thousand rubles before deducting personal income tax.

The government expects that 4.5 thousand such loans will be issued under the new conditions by the end of 2024.

IT mortgage appeared in Russia in the summer of 2022. The program was expected to be completed in 2024.

Now the authorities have decided to extend it for another five and a half years, but have excluded Muscovites and St. Petersburg residents from it.
