The Duma has proposed introducing a four-day school week for some categories of parents

In Russia, they have proposed conducting an experiment with the introduction of a four-day work week.

Its initiator was the Vice Speaker of the State Duma Boris Chernyshov (LDPR).

He proposed introducing a four-day work week for parents with many children, RIA Novosti reports.

The measure is intended for one of the parents while maintaining the current salary level.

But this option will be available to families in which both parents are officially employed.

It has also been proposed to expand this initiative to single parents raising one or more children.

Chernyshov suggested conducting the experiment in one or several regions for now. Its duration could be 12 months.

The experiment could involve employees of state-owned enterprises and private companies who voluntarily agree to participate in testing the initiative.

A four-day week is an arrangement whereby a workplace or school has its employees/students working/attending school for four days a week, instead of the usual five.
