It has become known which other country supported the 14th package of anti-Russian sanctions.

Switzerland supported the new restrictive measures introduced against Russia.

RIA Novosti reports this with reference to a statement released by the Swiss Federal Council.

According to the statement, official Bern is joining the previously introduced sanctions package, which is the 14th in a row.

This sanctions package also included restrictions that apply to Russian diamonds.

The decision to join was made on August 21, 2024. It will come into force six days later, on August 27.

It is noted that the new measures are intended to clarify which specific prohibitions apply to Russian jewelry. The deadlines required to provide exceptions for the withdrawal of investments from Russia are also extended.

Let us recall that this is not the first time Switzerland has done this. Despite the fact that the country is not a member of NATO or the EU, it has already joined almost all the restrictive measures against Russia.
