State Duma deputies approved the introduction of a new pension increase.
It is intended for disabled people of group I and pensioners over 80 years of age.
The additional payment of 1,200 rubles will be assigned without an application, TASS reports. Indexation and an increase by a regional coefficient are envisaged.
But this additional payment does not apply to disabled persons of the I type since childhood. For this category, a monthly payment for care by a parent or guardian is provided.
Today, compensation payments of 1,200 rubles are due to unemployed citizens who care for disabled people of group I or persons who have reached eighty years of age.
The Chairman of the relevant State Duma committee, Yaroslav Nilov, indicated that previously the payment was transferred to the citizen directly providing care.
Now the pension increase will be transferred to the pensioners themselves or to the disabled.
In Russia, pensioners who turn 80 are entitled to an increased pension. This is about 4.4 million people.
As of 2024, the amount of the fixed payment to the pension without an increase is 8,134.88 rubles, and the increased amount is 16,269.76 rubles.
