Some large Russian companies have decided to pay bonuses to their employees in December 2024.
This way, they will be able to avoid the five-stage personal income tax scale, which will come into effect on January 1, 2025.
According to the new rules, for workers with an annual income of more than 2.4 million rubles, the tax burden will increase from 2025, writes RBC .
Transfer of payments
Approximately 25-30% of large companies are ready to pay bonuses earlier, reports the TopContact HR group.
Consulting company Ward Howell also notes that companies from various sectors will make this decision by the end of the year.
State-owned companies cannot postpone bonuses because they only sum up the results of the year in March.
Therefore, they are forced to adhere to the previous deadlines for paying bonuses.
Director of tax expertise at NEO, Ekaterina Kashina, explained that bonuses are also included in the income from which personal income tax is paid.
Therefore, companies decided to pay bonuses in 2024 to compensate for possible employee losses due to new taxes.
