Sberbank issued a warning to Russians.
The financial institution urged people to be wary of fraudulent schemes associated with marketplaces.
This was reported by the TASS agency with reference to the press service of Sberbank.
As the financial organization warned, as a result of the actions of fraudsters, people either lose their funds or become unwitting accomplices in depriving other Russians of their money.
The fraudulent scheme works as follows: A potential victim is approached by a supposed employee of a large marketplace who offers to earn extra money by evaluating goods.
In this case, the person receives a small payment of 300-500 rubles, which makes the person confident in the veracity of the offer to earn some extra money.
After receiving the first salary, the victim is ready to cooperate further, and the fraudulent scheme then develops in one of two ways.
A person is offered to buy a certain product for a reward, after which he loses both the money and the reward.
In the second case, if a person refuses to buy the goods, the scammers offer him to link his bank card to accept payments from the marketplace. Thus, the person becomes an unwitting accomplice of the scammers, since they use his bank card to steal funds.
