Economist Grigoriev predicts a weakening of the ruble in July.
He explained that, overall, the ruble strengthened in June, but in July the situation will change towards weakening.
“It is likely that in July the exchange rate will return to plus or minus 90 rubles per dollar,” Grigoryev said in an interview with Lenta.ru .
According to him, a number of factors have recently contributed to the strengthening of the ruble.
Grigoryev explained that sanctions pushed exporters to get rid of currency, and there was also a drop in imports.
This led to an imbalance in the market, so the demand for currency decreased.
However, now, as the expert noted, the effect of these factors is gradually weakening.
Grigoriev said that a weaker ruble is beneficial for the budget.
With the growth of imports against the backdrop of sanctions, demand for currency will begin to grow, and the ruble will probably weaken slightly.
The expert believes that in July the rate will tend to the May-June value – approximately 90 rubles per dollar.
