The cost of used cars in Russia may rise sharply this fall.
They may increase in price by an average of 15-30 percent due to increased demand on the secondary market.
Experts from Drom.ru, Likvi and Avto.ru Business explained this in a conversation with Izvestia by the increase in the cost of new cars.
Such forecasts are related to the probable increase in the recycling fee from October 1.
In recent years, it has been 15-20 percent of the car's price, but it can rise to 70-85 percent.
If the government adopts the draft resolution of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the cost of a car after the fee increase will increase to 30 percent.
In this regard, prices on the secondary car market will increase proportionally.
The reason for the increase in recycling fees is considered to be the decrease in competitiveness of domestic producers.
The government is thus planning to encourage foreign automakers to invest more in local production.
