A detailed guide for Russians has been published explaining how to check your credit history.
Banks take credit history into account when deciding whether to issue a loan, and insurance companies do so when calculating the cost of insurance.
Information about credit history is stored in the credit history bureau, RBC reports. Access to the data can be obtained through the State Services website, as well as in the Central Catalogue of Credit Histories on the Bank of Russia website.
Russians can request a list of BKIs free of charge and without restrictions. However, the credit history itself can be obtained free of charge only twice a year.
Banks also provide credit history services upon client request.
In the event of debt collection due to a delay in loan repayment, information about this will be entered into the database of enforcement proceedings of the Federal Bailiff Service.
