Associate Professor of the Department of Land Transport Vehicles of the Moscow Polytechnic University's Transport Faculty Anatoly Fironov said that cars in the Russian Federation will become more expensive from October 1.

According to the expert, the reason for such a price change will be the new recycling fee rates.

Fironov explained: “The first to go up in price will be cars with an engine capacity of one to two liters,” as reported by the Prime agency.

According to the analyst, at present the recycling fee for such vehicles averages approximately 300,600 rubles.

The expert predicted a corresponding price increase to 556,000 rubles.
