Russians were told how sick leave payments will soon change.
Already in 2026, the maximum payment amount will increase to 6,800 rubles per day.
The Ministry of Labor shared this information with the Izvestia portal.
The maximum amount of payment is calculated based on the citizen’s annual earnings and work experience.
That is, a person can count on the following payments on sick leave:
- with up to five years of experience - up to 60% of average earnings over the last two years;
- with experience from 5 to 8 years - 80%;
- with more than eight years of experience - 100% of the employee's average salary, but not more than the maximum payment amount established by the state.
In 2026, the maximum benefit will reach 207,600 thousand rubles per month, which, in turn, is equivalent to 6.8 thousand rubles per day.
At the same time, Russians can now count on a maximum of 4 thousand rubles in daily payments when they are on sick leave.
Consequently, in a year the limit will increase by 1.7 times compared to the 2024 level.
