A new feature will become available to pensioners next year.
Elderly Russians will be issued special electronic ID cards with a QR code, which will help them confirm their privileged status in a new way.
The Russian Ministry of Labor and Social Protection reported this on Friday, November 22, RIA Novosti reports.
The electronic version of the pension certificate will contain the mandatory standard details that are present in the paper version.
But in addition, the electronic format will have a QR code.
Using the State Services portal application, a pensioner can show this QR code to an organization where the applicant’s preferential status will be confirmed using verification technology.
The new feature is expected to be available on July 1, 2025.
