Large Russian banks have launched combined deposits (combo deposits) with rates of over 25% per annum.
Some products promise returns of 28% per annum.
Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports on the situation on the bank deposit market, citing experts.
Interest rates on combo deposits have increased at VTB. The bank's administration has raised the rate on deposits with the long-term savings program (LTSP) to 28%.
Gazprombank set a rate of 26% for a similar product. Back in September 2024, it reached 23%.
Experts note that combined deposits are not uncommon.
They are relevant for both pension savings and brokerage products. Companies use PDS to attract additional financial resources.
In addition, banks may raise rates on combo deposits even if the Central Bank takes a course toward easing its policy.
But in this case, the maximum rates are set for short-term deposits.
