Russia will stop purchasing foreign aircraft in the foreseeable future.
Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Savelyev spoke about the future of civil aircraft construction. His commentary is quoted by the platform " Smotrim ".
In the near future, Russian industry will manufacture a total of 994 aircraft for civilian purposes.
Savelyev added that the Ministry of Industry and Trade will take part in the implementation of this task.
Thus, the domestic civil aircraft fleet will increase by almost 1,000 aircraft.
The government member emphasized that the emphasis will be placed on Russian technology.
Previously, Savelyev noted that the Russian Federation would return to purchasing foreign equipment only if there was a significant increase in demand for domestic air travel.
If Russian industry in this case cannot keep up with demand, then Russia will purchase foreign-made aircraft.
