In Russia they want to make changes to the procedure for checking gas equipment in residential buildings.

The relevant bill is currently under development.

Director of the National Housing Congress Non-Profit Partnership Tatyana Vepretskaya spoke about this in an interview with NNS .

She explained that there are cases when gas workers have checked all the apartments in a building, but there is one left whose owners do not allow service employees in.

The reason is most often related to illegal redevelopment and the fear of getting a fine for it.

Because of this, the service cannot check the gas equipment, which affects the safety of the apartment owners and other residents of the building.

Vepretskaya reported that legislators are developing a new rule that will allow gas workers to enter apartments without the owners’ permission.

It was proposed to establish the following procedure: an accelerated court process, the departure of bailiffs, opening of the apartment and inspection of the equipment.

In addition, it is planned to tighten control over organizations that supply gas cylinders.
