Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin approved new duties on products from unfriendly countries.
Increased customs duties are being introduced for a number of foreign goods. The decision will come into force in a week and will be valid until December 31 of this year.
A 35% duty will be imposed on confectionery products in the form of jelly, including fruit pastilles, TASS reports.
Also included in this list are hard candies, toffees and similar sweets.
A similar rate will be introduced for batteries imported from unfriendly countries.
For chocolates and wafers with cocoa, as well as sugar confectionery, the rate will be 0.73 euros per 1 kilogram.
For chocolate covered cookies and wafers 0.35 euro per kilogram.
Back in December 2022, the Russian government introduced 35% duties on the import of certain personal hygiene items.
An increased duty was also introduced on beer, wine and weapons.
The government noted earlier that such measures would not only additionally replenish the budget, but also support Russian producers.
