Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Fisheries Vasily Sokolov commented on the situation with prices for red caviar.
He called the price increase for this product inadequate.
Sokolov stated that, given all the circumstances, there is no shortage of red caviar on the market, TASS reports.
The organization's representative indicated that quite a lot of this product was mined last year and reserves were formed.
Production is showing positive dynamics.
Data on the deficit is being “inflated” by business representatives, Sokolov stated.
The increase in prices in the current situation is not justified.
In addition, the deputy head of Rosrybolovstvo added that employees of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) conducted a price check.
They have traced the entire chain "from fisherman to counter" and are now preparing a report. Rosrybolovstvo is waiting for the FAS to complete its work.
