The personnel issue remains important for Russian healthcare.
This was stated by the co-chairman of the Central Headquarters of the ONF and the president of the National Medical Chamber Leonid Roshal.
He noted that the shortage of medical workers could hinder the good measures and plans of the Ministry of Health, writes the Parliamentary Newspaper .
According to Roshal, life expectancy depends not only on healthcare. Human health is affected by ecology, nutrition and sustainable development.
The Ministry of Health noted that there is a shortage of more than 29 thousand doctors in primary care. However, there is an excess of specialists in hospitals.
Last year, twelve people competed for one budget place at a medical school, and up to thirty at leading universities.
The Ministry plans to increase targeted recruitment to universities in order to prepare personnel to work in district clinics and hospitals.
In addition, targeted recruitment for training mid-level medical personnel will be established.
