The State Duma explained why the first attempt to advance a law on payments for marriage and marital “experience” failed.
The government had previously rejected the proposal. Now it has emerged that there were two reasons for doing so.
Deputy Yaroslav Nilov spoke about them in an interview with RT on Tuesday, August 20.
The Cabinet of Ministers emphasized that, firstly, some regions are already making the corresponding payments.
Secondly, not all entities have the financial capacity to allocate funds for these payments.
These two reasons became the reason for the government to reject the bill. In addition, the Cabinet considered the initiative poorly developed.
The State Duma plans to finalize this project by the autumn session of parliament.
Deputies believe that all Russians who have been married for 20 years or more have the right to material incentives from the state.
