The general director of the union "Rosmoloko" Artem Belov explained why butter has become more expensive.
The main reason is related to the increased costs of the producers of this product.
Belov shared his comments on this topic in a conversation with the portal “ Abzats ”.
He reported that milk prices have increased by 20% over the year.
In addition, the shortage of workers had an effect. In order to retain the remaining employees, companies raised their salaries by 24%.
The rise in water and electricity tariffs also played a role. Since this summer, prices have increased by 10%.
But it's not just about production costs. There are also logistics, storage, packaging and grocery chain markups.
Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Association of Producers and Suppliers "Rusprodsoyuz" Dmitry Leonov emphasized that the average wholesale price of butter is about 606 rubles per 1 kg.
Retail prices exceed 1 thousand rubles. He pointed out that the markup in these cases reaches 70%, but at the same time, retail chains blame the producers for the price increase.
