Raiffeisenbank restricts transfers in foreign currency from September 2.
This ban is being introduced by the bank at the request of European authorities.
From September 2, individuals will not be able to send transfers in foreign currency, RBC exclusively reports, citing sources in the bank.
The ban applies to outgoing transfers in foreign currency for all categories of individuals.
The restriction was confirmed by a decision of the RBI group based on the instruction of the European Central Bank.
Raiffeisenbank confirmed that correctly executed currency transfers will be completed before 16:00 Moscow time on August 30, 2024.
The bank stopped processing outgoing money transfers in US dollars as of June 10, 2024.
Moreover, the regulator previously introduced minimum transaction limits with increased commissions on them.
Several years ago, Austrian Raiffeisen Bank International intended to reduce its business in Russia due to pressure from partners.
