Putin introduces fines of up to 5 million rubles for childfree propaganda

The Russian President has approved fines for promoting childfree people.

The law was previously approved by the State Duma and the Federation Council. On Saturday, November 23, it was signed by Vladimir Putin.

The document is posted on the official website of legal information.

In Russia, it is prohibited to promote the ideology of refusing to have children (childfree).

The new law amends the article of the Code of Administrative Offenses.

The document not only prohibits the dissemination of childfree ideas in the public domain, but also provides for fines for violators.

The amount depends on the status of the offender. Thus, for individuals, a fine of 100,000 to 200,000 rubles is introduced.

For officials they are twice as high – from 200,000 to 400,000 rubles.

If we are talking about a legal entity, then the fine in this case starts from 1 million and reaches 2 million rubles.

The most severe punishment is provided for in cases where the Internet or media are used to disseminate the values of a prohibited ideology. In such a case, the fine can reach 5 million rubles.
