This coming winter, tangerines risk becoming a scarce product in Russia.
Izvestia reported this on its Telegram channel.
The reason is related to a poor harvest in Turkey. This country has reduced export volumes several times in order to maintain stability in the domestic market.
The flood situation in Spain could also play a negative role.
According to data from local insurance companies, 2/3 of all citrus plantations were flooded.
But the threat of a deficit is still hypothetical. There is a possibility that the situation can be corrected and alternative sources of import can be found.
It is reported that this year Abkhazia plans to obtain a record harvest of tangerines in the last 10 years.
The price of Abkhazian fruits in Russian stores will be about 169 rubles per 1 kg, analysts expect.
