An expert spoke about an important benefit that is available to citizens of retirement age.
The dean of the faculty of law at the National Research University Higher School of Economics, Professor Vadim Vinogradov, recalled this.
In a conversation with RT , he said that in Russia, pensioners are exempt from paying property taxes for individuals.
This benefit applies to a house, apartment, room, garage, parking space or other real estate.
But you can only avoid paying tax on one property out of all types.
For example, if a person has two apartments, the benefit applies only to one home.
The specialist also added that this category of citizens is exempt from land tax on plots whose area does not exceed 600 sq. m.
If the plot is larger, then the tax is levied on the remaining part of the land.
For example, if a person owns a plot of 800 square meters, then the tax is only assessed on 200 square meters.
In addition to federal benefits for senior citizens, there are also regional support measures.
