The idea of a childlessness tax has caused much controversy in Russian society.
Vitaly Milonov, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Family Protection, Fatherhood, Motherhood and Childhood, spoke out against this idea.
In a conversation with the Public News Service , he explained why such measures will not help.
Milonov believes that a tax on childlessness will not help create new families.
He is convinced that such measures will not replace people’s desire to build a family with children.
Milonov noted that violent measures will not produce positive results.
He compared the childlessness tax to the character of Sobakevich, who threatened with a stick anyone who doubted his good nature.
No one will build a family by force, Milonov said.
Milonov added that this tax will not exist in Russia.
He stressed that such proposals do not reflect the official position of the government.
