More dangerous than underweighting and shortchanging: Economist warns Russians about “black marketing”

Deception of customers in the market and in stores has always existed.

However, now, due to some black marketing techniques, it has become more sophisticated.

Economist Vadim Kovrigin warned Russians about this in a conversation with the PRIME agency.

According to the expert, now all types of deception of buyers are divided into direct deception, which is quite easy to detect, and so-called “black marketing”.

The first type includes underweighting and undercounting, which are fairly easy to identify if you pay close attention to the purchasing process.

The second point is more complicated. It is used when there are promotions such as "two for the price of one", "last item", etc.

Such techniques allow one to create artificial excitement around products that are not actually in short supply.

Moreover, if in the first case an unscrupulous seller can be punished by law, then in the second case it is practically impossible to prove a case of fraud. And this, Kovrigin concluded, requires improvement of legislation.
