According to Reuters calculations, domestic prices for Russian liquefied petroleum gas fell sharply in December.
Wholesale prices for LPG in December compared to November fell by half due to the influx of fuel into the market that was previously exported.
This was reported by Reuters based on data received from trading sources and the Russian commodity exchange.
According to calculations, at the end of November, wholesale prices for LPG reached 28 thousand rubles per ton, in December – up to 14 thousand rubles per ton.
Some types of fuel are not subject to EU sanctions, but their share does not exceed 20% of previous export volumes.
In recent months, Russia has begun to actively export LPG to China, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Mongolia.
Deliveries of the same gas are organized to Afghanistan, but exports are facing payment problems.
Russia is ready to supply gas to its Afghan partners, but they are only willing to pay in cash.
Since the beginning of this year, Russian companies have increased gas supplies to Turkey and other Asian countries. Over the same period, exports to Europe have fallen by almost a quarter.
