The increase in the minimum wage from January 1 will cause wage growth in Russia.
This was reported by Olga Daineko, an expert of the project of the Russian Ministry of Finance’s National Research Institute of Finance “Moifinansy.rf”.
She reminded that from the new year the minimum wage will increase to 22,440 rubles, the Prime agency emphasizes.
In this regard, the monthly salary, provided that the working day is full, cannot remain below the established amount.
Daineko added that increasing this figure will lead to a revision of the salaries of Russians who earn less than 22,440 rubles.
The change in the minimum wage will oblige employers to review their salary funds from January 1.
In addition, it will be necessary to review the payment for periods of temporary disability, vacation pay and travel expenses.
The expert emphasized that the change in the minimum wage will increase deductions for insurance premiums for employees.
In the case of part-time work or a second job, the employee’s salary may remain below the established minimum wage.
