The State Duma announced when payments for working and non-working pensioners will be approximately equal.
Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, shared a comment on this topic.
In an interview with Moscow 24 , the deputy noted that it would not be possible to achieve a sharp equalization. This process would take time.
According to Bessarab’s estimates, payments will equalize in approximately 5–6 years.
From January 1, 2025, insurance pensions for working pensioners will again be indexed at the same level as for non-working pensioners.
But the latter can only count on indexation. Those who work also receive 3 individual pension coefficients (IPC) for every 12 months of employment.
Over time, the amounts of payments for working and non-working pensioners will be equal.
At the same time, Bessarab emphasized that this is an individual question. One person will earn 1 point, the second – three.
But the deputy believes that by 2029 or 2030 the amounts of payments will be approximately equal, if the cost of the individual pension coefficient increases.
Bessarab also pointed out that citizens can increase their future pension by 40% if they do not immediately retire upon reaching retirement age.
