It has become known what will happen to Russians’ pensions in the event of leaving the Russian Federation.
If you change your citizenship after your pension has been assigned, your payments will not change.
Russian Senator and arbitration manager of the Ministry of Justice Olga Epifanova spoke about this in an interview with Gazeta.Ru .
She explained that a pensioner is obliged to notify the Social Fund of his departure from the country.
In the application, he must write about his departure for permanent residence outside the Russian Federation one month before the departure date.
The pensioner will also be required to report every year that he is alive.
Epifanova explained that this can be done through a diplomatic mission or a Russian consulate.
She also clarified that the pension may be lost if citizenship is changed before retirement.
Moreover, the country for changing citizenship and the existence of a social security agreement with it will be of no small importance.
