The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Vladimir Kolokoltsev explained why it is impossible to increase the salaries of district police officers in the regions.
The head of the department claims that the problem is underfunding.
Kolokoltsev noted that the Ministry of Finance allocates funds at minimum premium rates, TASS reports.
If a decision is made to increase wages in one region, then they will have to be lowered in another region.
Kolokoltsev cited the Yaroslavl region as an example. If district police officers' salaries are raised there, they will have to be lowered in the Far East, where they are "already low."
In May of this year, the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted the growing problem of personnel shortages.
At that time, the department needed 152 thousand employees.
The problem of personnel shortage did not appear in the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 2024. Kolokoltsev reported on it earlier. The situation could not be improved over time.
