In the near future, a bill will be introduced to the State Duma that prohibits sellers from changing the price of goods if they are purchased in installments.
The measure will primarily hinder those who set hidden interest rates.
This was reported on Monday, August 5, by TASS, citing the Federation Council press service.
The authors of the initiative note that the number of citizens in Russia who purchase goods in installments is growing.
The situation is largely similar to a loan. But the citizen's obligations under the installment plan are not calculated in the context of his debt load profile.
The proposed measures are intended to protect Russians and reduce risks for them.
Initiatives, including a ban on changing prices for goods purchased in installments, were developed by members of the Duma and the Federation Council.
It has also been proposed to prohibit changing the cost of services if they are provided in installments.
