In November, prices for one product reached record levels.

We are talking about butter, the world price of which has been rising for 14 months in a row.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations shared these observations, RIA Novosti reports.

It is noted that the rise in prices is associated with the following factors:

  • domestic and international demand for the product;
  • limited supplies of raw materials caused by the seasonal reduction in milk production in Europe.

As experts note, it is not only about the rise in the cost of butter. Cheese and dry milk have also increased in price.

According to observations, it was the latter product that had the highest prices of all types of dairy products.

Thus, over the past year, the price growth index for dairy products amounted to 20%.

Speaking about November, the increase in prices for dairy products was 139.9 points. This figure is 0.9 points higher than recorded in the previous month, and also 23.4 points higher than in November 2023.
