Finance Minister Anton Siluanov supported the idea of reducing the number of civil servants in Russia.
The head of the department admitted that the number of civil servants in the Russian Federation will be reduced, while the salaries of those remaining will be increased.
Siluanov spoke on this topic during his speech at the Territory of Meanings forum, TASS reports.
The Minister noted that his department has always advocated for reducing the number of civil servants and increasing the salaries of the rest.
But here the head of the department made a reservation. In order to raise the salaries of officials, it is necessary to work more productively, i.e. fewer people should do more, the minister stated.
In addition, layoffs are always a very complex issue, the politician pointed out. It concerns not only a specific person, but also entire families, he explained.
At the same time, Siluanov emphasized that today the priority task for the Ministry of Finance is to ensure the needs of the special operation.
