The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia has published information about its intentions to check the validity of wholesale prices for bread.
The agency will also reportedly analyze the validity of the current cost of flour and butter.
The FAS Russia has posted the relevant material on its official website.
The organization clarified: “The data we receive will be verified in connection with the wholesale price.”
Analysis of the situation
It also states that the FAS will require food sellers to provide information about each planned price increase.
In particular, this concerns an increase in the price of bread, flour and butter until the end of 2024.
The organization stated: “Any unjustified actions in this matter will be grounds for the application of necessary and legal response measures.”
Earlier, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev asked the Russian Ministry of Agriculture to combat fluctuations in food prices.
