The FAS was concerned about the high markups discovered by the agency during monitoring of the bakery products market.
It turned out that manufacturers set a 60% markup on the bread that is most affordable to Russians.
The head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service, Maxim Shaskolsky, announced this to journalists on the sidelines of the III All-Russian Conference on Procurement, RIA Novosti reports.
According to the head of the FAS, his department is currently analyzing the cost of one of the most critically important products for Russians – bread.
During the analysis of prices for it, experts came to disappointing conclusions: the markup on the product is quite high, even if we are talking about the most affordable bread for Russians.
The agency is concerned about the average markup of 60%, which in some cases exceeds 100%.
It is noted that there were also cases where the markup did not exceed 5-10%, but then we were talking about private bakeries and their own brands.
Therefore, Shaskolsky emphasized that the department will conduct further investigation of the situation.
