The Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia may raise the key rate to 23% per annum at a meeting on December 20.
Analysts predict that the bank will act quickly and more harshly.
They also admitted that the Central Bank could immediately raise the figure to 25%, as emphasized in the RBC article.
Of the 30 experts surveyed, 23 expect the rate to rise to 23%, while four are inclined to believe that the rate will rise sharply to 25% per annum.
One of the experts allowed for the growth of the key rate to 24% per annum. At the same time, two believe that the rate will not change.
If analysts' forecasts come true, then December will be the fourth consecutive increase in the Central Bank of the Russian Federation's rate.
The regulator decided to raise the rate against the backdrop of accelerating inflation. As a result, the rate reached a historical maximum of 21%.
Experts suggest that the key rate may break this record in December.
